EIP is an emotional & social wellbeing programme supporting young people aged 8-16. EIP consists of two projects NADT Upcycle & NADT Media. Both projects are practical based with a high level of pastoral support across the programme.
We currently support over 160 young people per year from a range of rural communities, schools and organisations across North and West Cumbria.
EIP supports young people displaying low level symptoms or risky behaviours, reinforcing stabilisation, preventing escalation and the requirement for a more specialised intervention.
Our programme is unique to the locality as it is led by experienced professional youth workers who are trained in emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, self-harming, change & resilience, first aid, aces training and challenging behaviour. EIP offers young people the experience of a non-formal learning environment with informal learning opportunities. The programme focuses on emotional education and soft skill development, based on individual wants and needs.
EIPs alternative environments and activities allow young people to feel relaxed and provide the time and space to adjust and understand how to navigate the challenges and obstacles that currently prevent them from enjoying aspects of their lives.
The opportunity to tap into youth workers relationships and approaches with young people can be beneficial to schools, NADT do not believe in EIP being a standalone provision and recognise the importance of working collaboratively with schools and organisations to provide the best outcome for each young person.
We have a comprehensive evaluation process which utilises the Outcomes StarTM evaluation tool, we provide a tailored action plan for every individual, weekly feedback is provided to the school and an end of placement review is completed.
NADT works within the parameters of the Youth Work code of ethics held by the Institute of Youth Work and encompasses the National Youth Agency (NYA) curriculum. All policies and procedures are in line with national standards and UK Youth First Steps & Safe Places Framework covering safeguarding, health & safety, HR, governance and diversity/equality and inclusion.
